The American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Diego is dedicated to promoting the profession of architecture in San Diego. Founded in 1928, AIA San Diego remains committed to connecting architects with the community through advocacy for design, planning, sustainability, education, professional development, and civic leadership. The Regional Design Advisory Council, formed in 2021, is a broad group of interdisciplinary professionals, including but not limited to architects, planners, landscape architects, and elected officials. The Council strives to promote visionary thinking and serves as an advocacy group evaluating legislative initiatives and public and private investments that affect the design of San Diego’s built environs.
