Rachel Ehlin-Smith is a fiber artist that splits her time between San Diego, CA and New York. Created with natural dyes and materials such as hand woven raw silk, sesame bloom flowers, mane hair, and pampas grass, her delicate weavings reflect her love of nature and evoke a romantic, magical dreamlike quality.

Fungi: Sculpturally Hand Woven Silk and Horse Tail Fungi Clusters
Walk up and see the work of artist, Rachel Ehlin-Smith at Trash Lamb Gallery! Using silk and horsetail hair, Rachel creates sculptural works inspired by the gills of mushrooms. Rachel is a local fiber artist working with natural, locally-sourced materials. She’s an expert weaver making work using a variety of techniques such as Shibori hand dyeing, Japanese binding, and natural dying.
Her work will be on view at Trash Lamb Gallery in a walk-up window installation with a special reception on Saturday, September 24.
