Earth-Casted Works with Designers Nicholas Pourfard and Michael Upton

LANG BOOKS is a bookstore, gallery, and publishing project based in San Diego, California. Through artist books, zines, magazines, and objects LANG BOOKS covers topics ranging from art, literature, poetry, photography, and film. Their aim is to highlight independent publishers and artists within the community and beyond. LANG BOOKS will soon be home to an in-house publishing project and host quarterly art exhibitions and readings by local artists and authors.

Nicholas Bijan Pourfard is a furniture and lighting designer based in Southern California, focusing on pieces that are functional, unique, and contain some element of human interaction.

Michael Upton is an artist and designer whose work encompasses printed artwork, sculpture, homewares, painting, and building design, refusing to be constrained by a single discipline or process. His San Diego-based studio Upton produces an array of high-quality artwork and goods for the home, mirroring his fluidity between genres and multitudes of mediums.
